Weapons are a class of items that the character can equip to deal physical damage. They are classified into bludgeoning weapons, bows, cleaving weapons, piercing weapons, swords and thrown weapons. The character can equip any weapons, but using them effectively requires appropriate and sufficient skills. Using a weapon the character is not sufficiently skilled in incurs an Unskilled Weapon Penalty of -25% to hit and -25% damage.
Weapons are made from different types of wood or metal, and can possess magickal modifications. A weapon's damage ouput is determined by its material as well as the character's attributes corresponding skill level. Weapons can be found in chests around the game world, looted from certain fallen enemies, or bought from blacksmiths.
Throughout Book III, you'll find items of extraordinary power or with unusual abilities to help you with your quest. Generally, they weigh 4 or 5 times less than their ordinary counterparts and have far greater durability.
